Hello Year 3 children and parents,
I hope you all got on well with your home learning last week. It was lovely to see so many of the boys and girls on our 'Live Meet,' last Thursday and to hear them talk about their talents. Our next 'Live Meet,' will take place this Thursday at 10.00am. The link will be put on the website 15 minutes before this at 9.45am. Your child can chat to some of their friends before we start properly at 10.00am. Our theme this week links in with our 'Health Week,' in school. I hope to read the children a story called, 'The Jar Of Happiness,' and then I would like them to share some of the work they will complete on Tuesday this week. They can do one of the following;
Please discuss with your child before hand to help them decide what they would like to do. I am looking forward to hearing all of the children's contributions.
As mentioned above this week is 'Health Week,' within our home learning. You will notice that some Literacy tasks have been adapted to link in with our 'Health Week.' There are lots of health week activities and practical activities included within this week's time table. Mrs Auterson has organised a poster competition. The children are encouraged to design a poster related to Healthy Eating and Lifestyle etc.. Please email me a photograph of your child's poster to forward onto Mrs Auterson. A few prizes for 1st and 2nd places will be posted out. Thank you to everyone who emails work that your child has completed to me. I really love seeing this and providing feedback for your child. Please continue to do it in the future. Thank you.
As well as being Health week this week, we have 'Internet Safety Day,' on Tuesday. Please discuss with your child how they can stay safe on line. I have attached a you tube video of a story highlighting important internet safety messages.
I plan to read a story called 'The Royal Dinner,' to the children in the week beginning Monday 15th February. This is linked to our 'Castle Topic.' The story is all about making pizza and we normally make this in school and the children really love it. I just want to let you know in advance that your child will need pitta bread, pizza sauce for the top if they wish and a few toppings for their pizza. Thank you for this.
We know that home learning is set to continue for a while longer than anticipated. New home learning packs will be available for you to lift at school on Friday 12th February from 9 to 3. Please remember to wear a mask and enter via the main door. Your child's pack will be alongside your eldest child's pack. Please exit at the back of the hall. Thank you.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy all the activities planned.
Thank you for all your super work.
Take care
Mrs Catterson
