8th February

Hello Year 2 boys and girls and parents,

I hope you all got on well with your home learning this week.  I have enjoyed looking at your work from this week.  You continue to make me so proud with your standard of work.  New home learning packs are being made up for the children to use after half-term.  These can be collected from the assembly hall on Friday 12th February between 9am and 3pm. Your child's pack will be on the Year 2 table or if they have siblings it will be with the oldest child.  Please wear a face covering, enter through the main front entrance of the school and leave via the fire exit in the hall.  Thank you.

This week it is Health week.  In school we would have been doing lots of health related activities each day.  I have added some activities for you to complete through out the week.  There are fitness workouts/challenges, art competitions and lots of healthy snacks and crafts for you to try out.   Please just do what you can from these activities.  I have reduced the amount of  Literacy work on the timetable to free up a little time to do some of them.

This is a very busy week as it is also Internet Safety day on Tuesday.  At this age the children do not have as much freedom on the internet.  However, it is good to educate them when young about keeping safe on the internet.  I have added a link on our class page to some stories about using the internet safely.   You might like to listen to them and discuss internet safety together in your own time.

Thank you for taking part in our live session on Tuesday past.    It was great to see you all and your teddy bears.  This week we will be having our ‘Live meet’ at the same time on Tuesday morning at 11am.  The Collaborate helpsheet will be added to our class page.  I will add the 'Live meet'  link to  this week’s class page 15 minutes beforehand.   The children can come on at this time and have a ‘chat’ with their friends before  it starts at 11am.   Children in school will take part on a laptop.  This week our focus will be Health Week.  I will read a story and then we will have some activities afterwards.

I hope you have lots of fun this week boys and girls.  Not long now until our half-term break and you can have a well-earned break from home learning.  Thank you again to all parents and family members for your support and to the boys and girls for their continued hard work at home.
